Maryland Fire Chiefs Association Past President Charles Nelson Black, IV Passes Away
The officers and members of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association regretfully announce the passing of Past President Chief Charles Nelson Black, IV on Friday, October 18, 2019. Chief Black suffered a debilitating stroke in June of 2003 and was never able to fully recover. A lifelong member of the Maryland Fire Service, Chief Black served as the President of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association from 2002-2003 and also as Fire Chief of the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was also a very successful Pierce dealer thru his business, Potomac Fire Equipment. To many, he was the heart and soul of the world famous Chesapeake Fire Museum in Hebron, Maryland.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the Short’s Funeral Home followed by an interment in Hebron, MD.
