The Officers and Members of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association are saddened by the passing of MFCA Past President Joseph R. Robison.
Chief Robison led a distinguished life serving his community including all volunteer fire and EMS departments in our State. He was a Life Member and Past Chief of Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, a Charter member of Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, Past Mayor of Laurel, served as a Prince George’s County Fire Commissioner 1970-2003, President of the PGCVFRA 1968-1969, President of the Maryland State Fire Association 1998-1990 and MFCA President from 1974-1975.
Chief Robison was awarded many recognitions throughout his tenure as a “no non-sense” leader being recognized by the MFCA with the following honored presentations:
In the early years of our association Chief Robison was instrumental in the beginning of a “Endowment Fund” where funds are kept in interest bearing account set aside to be used as the membership of our association determines. Chief Robison always had a friendly smile, always willing to talk with anyone needing guidance, fellowship and mentoring. We thank Chief Robison for his commitment and leadership to our association and our thoughts and prayers are with the Robison family, the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, Maryland State Firemen’s Association and all that knew him.
May He Rest in Eternal Peace…
