USFA & Women In Fire to Host First-Ever Women’s Weekend

The U.S. Fire Administration, in partnership with Women in Fire, is pleased to host their first-ever Women’s Weekend at the National Fire Academy (NFA). This is an outstanding opportunity for personal growth, professional development, and networking through courses taught by world-class instructors on a beautiful campus in our own “back yard”.

Maryland Fire Chiefs Association held the annual awards and elections installing the newest officers for the 2023-2024 year. We thank all that attended and we wish the 2023-2024 officers the best of luck and congratulate all award winners and hall of fame inductees.

NVFC recently asked me to write an article for Fire Engineering on-line to highlight some of the member benefits that can be offered through a SAFER Recruitment and Retention grant. Considering that the SAFER grant application period is currently open, now is a good time to review this information and see if your department can benefit from a SAFER grant.

It is that time of year and we are searching for our next ambassadors for the Maryland Fire Chief’s Association. We have programs for Little Miss Fire Prevention, Junior Fire Chief, Junior Miss Fire Prevention and Miss Fire Prevention.

MFCA 15th Annual Golf Tournament

This current tournament will support the MFCA with the transportation logistics support to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial weekend. The MFCA is tasked with providing transportation for all of the families that are brought in town for the NFFF Memorial Weekend. MFCA continues providing transportation logistical support every year since September 2001.
