It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Past Chief and Life Member James “Jimbo” Magruder Sr., who passed away last evening.
Jimbo joined the Glenn Dale-Woodmore-Glenn View Fire Department (GWGVFD) in 1967. He quickly rose through the ranks and remained an active and dedicated member for many years. Beyond his service to GWGVFD, Jimbo was also deeply involved in the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association, joining in 1987 and earning Life Membership in 2007. He remained committed to the fire service throughout his life, including active involvement with the Maryland State Firemen’s Association.
